Ramadan Condemns Killer Taxes In 2021 Budget

Mohammed Adamu Ramadan  The honourable Member of Parliament for the Adentan Constituency has vehemently condemned the 2021 budget statement describing the tax element in it as "unbelievable" in a Facebook post which has been sighted by Adenta News.  The Facebook post reads: "Nana Akufo Addo promised to move our economy from taxation to production. Don't be deceived. In the end it's all about: taxes! taxes! and taxes! See a list of new taxes and increment on some existing ones. Unbelievable!  1. Covid-19 Health Levy (10 pesewas) to be charged on National Health Insurance Levy. Meaning VAT will increase by 1%.  2. Sanitation and Pollution Levy (10 pesewas) to be charged on the price per litre of petrol/diesel under the Energy Sector Levies Act (ESLA). 3. Energy Sector Recovery Levy of 20 pesewas on price per litre of petrol/diesel under ESLA.   A combination of the increases in the petroleum levies will result in 5.7% increase in fuel at the pump.  4. Ashaley Botwe Highways Taxi Station & Others Benefit From Chippings From MP

According to the chairman of the Ashaley Botwe Highways Taxi Station, the Member of Parliament for the Adentan Constituency, Hon. Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, made a stop at their station over the weekend and had a brief interaction with the taxi drivers where they told him they needed chippings and to their surprise the MP redeemed his pledge this afternoon. Ransford Narh ( Chairman of the Ashaley Botwe highways Taxi Station) The MP asked us what we wanted and we said we wanted chippings. When it rains, our station becomes very messy. That was why we requested for chippings. Mr Ransford further revealed that, Hon. Ramadan gave them GHS1000 worth of fuel. He expressed satisfaction with the kind gesture from the Member of Parliament for the Constituency and expressed his deepest gratitude to him. Hon. Mohammed Adamu Ramadan Adenta News can confirm that Amanfro Taxi Station is also expected to receive its share of chippings from Hon. Ramadan this afternoon.
