Hon. Mohammed Adamu Ramadan   The last Saturday heavy downpour adversely affected several areas in the Adentan Constituency. After several calls for help from a section of his constituents who were severely hit by heavy rains on Saturday, Hon. Ramadan decided to inspect some of the affected areas on Sunday afternoon.  His first stop was in New Adentan, an area behind the Gibrilla Mosque. There, he observed that a number of buildings had blocked the main drain causing the water to divert into the homes of some residents. The MP pledged to do his very best to resolve the problems. He also pledged a  number of streetlights to the Residents Association when they pleaded with him to help them lighten up their streets.  Hon. Mohammed Adamu Ramadan  The honourable Member of Parliament for the Adentan Constituency has vehemently condemned the 2021 budget statement describing the tax element in it as "unbelievable" in a Facebook post which has been sighted by Adenta News.  The Facebook post reads: "Nana Akufo Addo promised to move our economy from taxation to production. Don't be deceived. In the end it's all about: taxes! taxes! and taxes! See a list of new taxes and increment on some existing ones. Unbelievable!  1. Covid-19 Health Levy (10 pesewas) to be charged on National Health Insurance Levy. Meaning VAT will increase by 1%.  2. Sanitation and Pollution Levy (10 pesewas) to be charged on the price per litre of petrol/diesel under the Energy Sector Levies Act (ESLA). 3. Energy Sector Recovery Levy of 20 pesewas on price per litre of petrol/diesel under ESLA.   A combination of the increases in the petroleum levies will result in 5.7% increase in fuel at the pump.  4. According to the chairman of the Ashaley Botwe Highways Taxi Station, the Member of Parliament for the Adentan Constituency, Hon. Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, made a stop at their station over the weekend and had a brief interaction with the taxi drivers where they told him they needed chippings and to their surprise the MP redeemed his pledge this afternoon. Ransford Narh ( Chairman of the Ashaley Botwe highways Taxi Station) The MP asked us what we wanted and we said we wanted chippings. When it rains, our station becomes very messy. That was why we requested for chippings. Mr Ransford further revealed that, Hon. Ramadan gave them GHS1000 worth of fuel. He expressed satisfaction with the kind gesture from the Member of Parliament for the Constituency and expressed his deepest gratitude to him. Hon. The duo have not been seen in public for the past two weeks raising concerns about their health statuses as far as covid-19 is concerned.  The Finance Minister designate, Mr Ken Ofori Atta, is currently in the United States of America receiving treatment for post covid-19 complications.

Tomorrow, Ghana will take a crucial decision about its destiny for the next four years. The December polls left both the NDC and the NPP with 137 members of parliament on each side with one independent candidate who will determine the side which forms the majority in the next parliament.  The NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama has filed a suit at the Supreme Court of Ghana seeking among other reliefs to challenge the December 9 result declaration by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission and calling for a rerun of the presidential election.
