The Beautiful Story Of Obama

Image
By: Paramza Kofi Hamza Maiga  Yes You Can!!!  Senator Paul Simon was impressed by Barack Obama's work rate and talent. He therefore recommended Obama to the Democratic Leader of the Ilnois State Senate, Emil Jones Jr. "This young black man is a good guy; lets give him all the help he needs to succeed." said Paul Simon. Emil Jones allowed Obama the free hand to sponsor so many bills to the annoyance and disappointment of some of the senior law makers.  Obama won his election into the US Congress in 2004 and just few years later (2008) he was elected 44th president of the United States of America.  It must be said that Obama's first attempt at US Congress was in the year 2000 when he lost heavily to Bobby Rush a fellow black competitor. Prior to his defeat in 2000 Obama had been elected twice to represent the 13th District of Ilnois (1996 and 1998) He nearly quit politics following that defeat. Little did anyone imagine that Obama would overcome his defeat, enter Congre...

How Politicians Win and Lose The Next Election Easily

Image
This article answers the question: What is a politician's purpose? In Ghana, everyone is an expert in politics. But is everyone really an expert? This article is based on research and my over 15 years experience in political activism.  Paramza Kofi Hamza Maiga   Service to the people vrs Power over the people: People want to know if a politician will be around to serve the people, or he will enjoy power and forget the people. The politician who puts social service ie serving the people ahead of building mansions and living an ostentatious lifestyle will serve longer.  Building Trust: An important factor in building trust is accessibility. Most Politicians become accessible when the next election is around the corner. You will often hear the people say "he never visited me in 4 years". "He is now doing our roads because election is next week". Permanent Campaign: A good politician must occupy the mind space of the people all the time. A day must not pass that a p...

RMV Treatment Meted Out to Members of Parliament by Police, Electoral Commission Embarrassing Samed Akalilu   Accra, 23rd December, 2020 Respect My Vote Movement condemns in no uncertain terms the disgusting and contemptuous treatment meted to Honourable Members of Parliament who marched to the offices of the Electoral Commission on Tuesday 22nd December 2020. Videos of the incidents that went viral show how overzealous police officers tried to prevent Members of Parliament from presenting their petition to the Electoral Commission. Electoral Commission officials also failed to come out and receive the petition from the Honourable Members of Parliament citing short notice. We are urging the leadership of the minority in parliament to institute a human rights action against the police officers including the officers who supervised yesterday’s unprofessional conduct on the part of the police and ensure that the culprits are brought to book. The IGP must also be hauled before Parliament t...

I  asked him what kind of support he wanted from me and he said, he wanted me to handle his entire communication.  Actually, when I started, he had many calls to be careful of Hamza. After he won the primaries, he asked me one day, "bro, I am really surp...
